Care the Wild Project

The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) initiated the Care the Wild Project in 2019 with the objective to reduce global warming by planting trees to rebalance natural and environmental conditions through collaboration with business networks such as government agencies, corporates, and local communities.

In 2020, SET invites business coalitions consisting of the Royal Forest Department, government agencies, corporates, and local communities to participate in the Care the Wild ‘Plant & Protect’ project to cope with climate change and solve environmental issues. The concepts of ‘raising funds to grow forests’ and ‘together, we protect forests through the good governance mechanism’ are promoted whereby all stakeholders can learn about the initiative and monitor the growth of their trees by accessing the ‘Care the Wild’ mobile application.

With a firm adherence to resolve environmental issues, tackle climate change, and be recognized as a financial institution with a steadfast commitment to promoting sustainability in response to the United Nation’s Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs), Krungsri takes part in the initiative by granting a financial sponsorship in support of the ‘Care the Wild’ mobile application development and having Krungsri volunteers join the forest planting event.

The Care the Wild Project not only helps the Bank to achieve such objectives but also corresponds to the SDGs of the United Nations Goal 13: Climate Action, Goal 15: Life on Land, and Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals

Operating results
In 2023, Krungsri continued the Care the Wild ‘Plant & Protect’ project for the fourth consecutive year by expanding the planting area in Ban Khao Hua Khon, Nampu Subdistrict, Mueang Ratchaburi District, Ratchaburi Province, for 10 rai. 60 Krungsri Group volunteers participated in the activity and spent 480 volunteer hours.

Remark: a big tree can absorb carbon dioxide of nine kilograms annually on average.
