Financial knowledge can be compared to the foundation of life, serving as stepping stones for personal financial management to attain financial stability. For this reason, in 2018, Krungsri expanded its financial education to undergraduate students, who are considered the major driving force for Thailand’s economy, by leveraging the achievement of the Krungsri Financial Literacy: Simple to Learn Project. The resultant
Krungsri Financial Literacy: Simple to Manage Project equips students with know-how about personal financial management, especially income and expense management, as well as awareness of the importance of smart financial planning and risk management in preparation for entry into the job market. At the same time, the project instills savings discipline and teaches students how to choose appropriate financial services for efficient savings and investment.
The curriculum in the Krungsri Financial Literacy: Simple to Manage Project was improved based on the curricula of various organizations such as the Stock Exchange of Thailand, Bank of Thailand, and CSR Club-the Thai Bankers’ Association to suit the learners’ interests under two core modules comprising
Module 1: All you need to know about money, and
Module 2: Four paths to wealth (smart earning, smart saving, smart spending, and smart investing). Focus is on game-based learning activities that promote awareness of the importance of personal financial management, leading to setting long-term life and savings plans as well as realizing the importance of investment for a better future.
In addition to achieving the aforesaid objectives, the Krungsri Financial Literacy: Simple to Manage Project also aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), namely SDG 4: Quality Education, and SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities.
