Currently, the blood reserves of the National Blood Center, Thai Red Cross Society, shows a growing depletion tendency, which is going the opposite direction of the increasing demand for blood for patient treatment, particularly the rare and scarce Rh negative blood type.
Cognizant of the necessity and the demand for blood volumes to save fellow humans, Krungsri and the National Blood Center, Thai Red Cross Society, initiated the Giving More…Receiving More Project in 2017 to support blood drives by the Thai Red Cross’s mobile blood donation unit which are regularly scheduled for every quarter.
2015 marked the first year in which Krungsri extended the blood drive coverage to its provincial branches and received good cooperation from employees, customers, and the public. Furthermore, Krungsri expanded the project results by opening applications for the donation of organs and eyes to the Thai Red Cross Society on the blood drive dates.
In addition to achieving the aforesaid objectives, the Giving More…Receiving More Project also aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), namely SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
